1.Raw Material
In China, the standard cotton swab raw material components: pure cotton bamboo.
lPure Cotton material tests:
1)Fluorescencetesting:placethe cotton swab underthe UV light (365mm), should not appear strong blue light;
2)Water absorptiontesting:
--- water absorption sink time: China standard is10s, HZmedical standard is2-3s;
--- water absorption rate: China standard>23g,HZmedical standard>27g;
3)Whiteness color testing: China standard is 80 degree, HZ medical standard is 85 degree;
4)Sulfur content test & water content testing;
Tips: The fat content is the main reason which affects the cotton water absorption, the fewer the better--- we also call it''degreasing cotton''
lBamboo material tests:
1)The roundness of the bottom diameter,HZ medical standard is2.5mmin dia .;
2)The appearance must be free from burrs;
3) Curvaturetesting: China standard is1N, HZ medical standard is5N;
2.The finishedcotton swabproduct testing:
1)The cotton head tightness: No standard in China, HZ medical standard is 3N;
2)The cotton head appearance:
üRoundness &Smoothness ;(this is decided by the Viscose quality)
üNo dirty impurities;
üNo yellow dots;(The yellow dots will appear if the high temperature drying time is too long)
3)The overall appearance:No burrs, No impurities;
Tips: In China market, most factories will use the Gummy chemicals mixed with water directly or even don't use any gummy at all. But we HZ medical supply insist on using traditional flocculent poly vinyl alcohol to make the viscose. It'll take at least on hour everytime and must to use it out within 10 days.
3.About the sterilization
Normally China factories use the EO sterilization (ethylene oxide sterilization), there is only one thing needs to pay attention--- must let the goods stand for 15 days before shipping out. Because the EO residues are toxic, it can only be diluted after 15 days.
